Our History

2013

RLH Properties is established.

On February 28, 2013, in Mexico City, we established RLH Properties focused on activities exclusively related to the acquisition and management of high-end hotel assets.

Four Seasons Mexico City Acquisition

Just a couple of months after establishing RLH Properties, on June 26, 2013, we are pleased to announce the purchase of the property located at Paseo de la Reforma 500.

2015

RLH Properties conducts its initial public offering

At RLH Properties, we launched our Restricted Primary Public Offering of Shares on the Mexican Stock Exchange on November 5, 2015. This consisted of issuing 29,768,977 series 'A' shares at a price of $15.15 pesos, placing the total amount at $451 million pesos.

Mayakoba Acquisition and Four Seasons Mexico City Hotel Renovation

In December 2016, the acquisition of a stake in the Rosewood, Fairmont, Banyan Tree, and Andaz Mayakoba hotels, as well as the El Camaleón Golf Course in the Riviera Maya, was approved. In parallel, the Four Seasons Hotel Mexico City underwent a comprehensive renovation exceeding 15 million dollars to commemorate its 20th anniversary, led by Gilles & Boissier, integrating a contemporary design that preserves the hacienda style and reinforces its timeless elegance.

Villa Magna Acquisition

On November 26, 2018, we announced the acquisition of the iconic and luxurious Hotel Villa Magna, located in the center of Madrid.

Environmental recognition and strengthening of the Mayakoba complex

Mayakoba obtained from PROFEPA the Tourist Environmental Quality Certificate, Environmental Performance Level 2 —the highest possible recognition— highlighting its commitment to continuous improvement and high environmental performance. Simultaneously, the renovation of the Rosewood Mayakoba hotel was completed, incorporating remodeled villas and the new Aquí Me Quedo beach club, expanding and enriching the complex's offering.

Opening of One&Only Mandarina and consolidation of its equestrian offering

The handover of keys for One&Only Mandarina and One&Only Mandarina Private Homes took place, a luxury and ultra-luxury destination located on 2 kilometers of pristine beach in Nayarit. Additionally, the Mandarina Polo & Equestrian Club opened, a world-class equestrian complex that establishes Mandarina as a unique destination.

Expansion and key recognitions

Between 2020 and 2021, RLH Properties strengthened its presence in Spain with the reopening of Rosewood Villa Magna in Madrid and the acquisition of Bless Collection Madrid.

During this period, the company was recognized for its organizational culture, obtaining Great Place to Work and Socially Responsible Company certifications.

In the development stage, One&Only Mandarina received important recognitions, including Development of the Year 2020 at the HOLA Awards and a double award in Project of the Year 2021.

Banyan Tree Mayakoba hotel expansion completed

With 18 new beachfront villas, seven overwater lagoon villas, and a completely new Sands Beach Club, the expansion process at this complex was completed.

For the second time, RLH Properties obtains the prestigious Great Place to Work certification; recognizing the good corporate culture and a healthy work environment for the professionals that make up the team.

Park Hyatt Los Cabos at Cabo del Sol Acquisition

RLH Properties acquires its first property in the tourist destination of Los Cabos, setting a precedent in the growth vision and consolidation of its ultra-luxury portfolio in Mexico.

Andaz Mayakoba Rebranding. Mayakoba is renewed with the arrival of the ultra-luxury brand Alila, marking a new era for the destination.

Alila Mayakoba, the first Alila brand property in Latin America, will open its doors in the first quarter of 2026.

Cabo del Sol Acquisition

Rosewood Mandarina opened its doors in the stunning Riviera Nayarit region, marking a key step in the consolidation of RLH Properties’ portfolio in strategic, high-value destinations.

Simultaneously, the acquisition of Four Seasons Los Cabos at Cabo del Sol, along with the Cove Club and Cabo del Sol Golf courses, as well as an extensive ultra-luxury residential offering, represents a historic milestone as these assets integrate into RLH Properties' operations.
